think Ruffles

Welcome to Ruffle day at More Stars in Comanche!

Samm announced the ruffle hop, and the first thing I thought of was how I could make ruffled rooster feathers. Pat of Life in the Scrapatch was thinking feathers too,  and emailed me with a ruffled feathers challenge ! I think she wins with her excellent  ruffled feather pillow.
Remember the Black Tie Boogie Hop that I had the pleasure to cheer ?
Well, after it was over, some of the Black Tie Boogie fabric found it's way to my house !
I decided it would be perfect to gussie up the dish towels I got from my Mom .

Sew, I put some pretty stitches around the edges, (I referred to my Stitch Bible ),
appliqued some roosters on them and added ruffles.

What do you do with those panels that come in the fat quarter packs ?
Make pretty ruffly rooster pillows !

Thank you to the hostess with the mostess  Amy, the star of Sew Incredibly Crazy
And to Madame Samm of Sew We Quilt  who loves to ruffle everything !
If you go visit her....you might see some ruffled unmentionables !
And please go visit the other ruffly ladies I'm sharing this day with !
March 13th

Just look who's showing their ruffles tomorrow !

March 14th

Have a wonderful day and God bless you.

Ms Vicki ... I thank you for the kind words. I think you have gussied up the tea towels with some mighty fine stitching and a ruffle of success. The pillows look very pretty and well ruffled to me. I think Spartacus is going to come after us both and peck and tear our pillows to shreds if we do not name Lily the ruffle queen. Since I do not want an angry rooster after me, I am content to let Ms Jan wear the ruffled feather crown ... :) Pat

I love the tea towels and pillows. The red/white/black is perfect. The towels look beautiful against the backdrop of the oven and I saw lovely red salt/pepper. Wow! Those pillows are phenomenal. I never realized how ruffly the chickie species is. They are dolled up! Where are you going to take them? Thanks for participating and the wonderful projects.

I love both the tea towels and the pillows, but the gathering on your pillows give a light, fluffy bouncy effect. Did you just use one layer of fabric on the gathers? It looks almost like you can see thru the fabric which is what is giving it the light and fluffy look. It could be that it was photographed outdoors that did it, Either way I like it. Lovely.

The appliqued roosters look great!

Love the striped fabric on your tea towels, and I love the ruffles on your pillows they just look so "full". May I say, I am also in love with the outdoor photos of no snow. We were a snow globe here yesterday afternoon, what with the snow coming down and the wind whipping it around! But others got the worse of the storm, we were pretty tame all in all.

Vickie I could hardly wait for your day to get here because I knew you would have something roostery (is that a word?) and wonderful and you did not disappoint! I think I have a couple of roosters left from that same fabric and I am going to copy you - I love, love, love those tea towels! I have been trying to make at least two or three towels a month this year to give as Christmas gifts later so these are going to be in that collection, or maybe not since I'll probably have a hard time giving them away! The pillows are darling too and I'm thinking wouldn't they be darling on my swing on the deck - they could be waterproofed with some Scotchguard and they'd be perfect. :) blessings, marlene

I liked it all, ruffles, rooster, and the banner introducing all the ranch hands. Very inspiring, warm and a place you like to come and stay awhile. I am tagging along now on friends connect. I'll see you in the mornings.

I adore roosters! The striped fabric allows the roosters to still remain manly but the ruffles give them little whimsey! Very cute.

The towels and pillows are great! Love the red and black with the roosters. And, I've always wondered what to do with the panels, myself. I'm getting such great ideas from this blog hop. BTW, enjoy seeing the pics of your ranch crew. I think the pups all need big cushy ruffled pillows to sleep on. And your night watchman need a variety of them -- one for each of his/her monitoring stations!

The towels are adorable but, WOW!, the pillows are grand. I'm generally not a chicken person but your pillows are perfect and I'd love them to jazz up my porch. Super!
