Happy Day !

Happy New Year ! 

OK, now a bit about quilting.

 As you may have read in one of my earlier posts, I won this book from Rachaeldaisy,

(if you don't have this book---get one, you'll LOVE it !)

This is my first attempt at making fabric. While I was sewing, I felt like I was "wasting" fabric, mind you these were tiny scraps that would probably sit in a plastic bin so long they would  rot.

 I would be sewing along, and  a bit of a happiness would overtake me ......., (you know what I mean.... right :-o ) , then I would suppress that feeling because "I was wasting it". 

When I finished, guess what I had left over ? Slivers, tiny slivers ! 

 I have a new love ! 

You must try this, it's sewing FREEDOM !

 Side Note : My sister had surgery last night, for complications with kidney stones. If you'll indulge me for a moment, (she reads my blog).

I love you Bonnie and I'm and praying for you to feel better quickly.

Look What I Have !

I've been walking the 1 1/2 miles to the mailbox and back everyday

 to see if my prize was here yet. (I need the exercise).

Yesterday the FedEx man brought my copy of 15 Minutes of Play   that I won from Rachaeldaisy . (Who happens to have a beautiful quilt on page 32 in the book.)

 I did a Happy Dance I was so excited!

 Rachaeldaisy participated in the book blog hop. She had 15 reasons why this was a "must have" book. You were to comment on the reason that fit you the best. 

 I  left my comment the very last day, almost the very last hour ! This is the reason I chose out of the 15 for wanting the book.....

7) Freedom! Rather than patterns Victoria gives challenges as a starting point. It's not all about having the right amount of yardage, or particular colors. It's about freedom for you and the fabrics you have  to just go for it and see where you go.

I am such a planner, a this, goes with this, goes with this, I need this many yards, this many .......,  this much...... ,kind of person.

I've already decided which method I'm going to try.

 "Sew" be on the look out over the next few months to see if I can just go for it !
