Where'd I Put THAT !

The Nancy Drew is a Clue hop day is finally at More Stars in Comanche ! Yippee !
I made some things to help me keep track of all the stuff I set down,
and then forget where !
I thought that was a good idea, after all, Nancy Drew finds thing that are lost or stolen ....Right ?

To keep track of my jewelry (especially when traveling ), I made a jewelry pouch, using  this tutorial.

It has handy dandy dividers all around the inside of it.
You can put your earrings, pins, bracelets, or whatever in them.
You could use this pouch to keep your sewing stuff in !

Do you ever have to call yourself to find your iphone ?
I do !
So I made an iphone pouch using this tutorial. However, I couldn't get it under the pressure foot of my machine to sew the side seams, because the interfacing, fabrics and batting were really thick.
 Hmmmm, watt to do?
Sew the sides together by hand, with a blanket stitch !
It looks spiffy.....don't you think "sew"?

This pouch was the first one I made for the iphone,  but it was too small.
 Awww..... sad face  :(
Hmmmmm, watt can I do with this !

I know ! Put my truck key on it and stash a little cash in the pocket !

The eye glass case is the best because I'm always losing my glasses !
The ones in the picture above are actually my sewing cheaters.
The glasses I need to see with are rimless, "sew" they're very hard to find !

Here are 6  pictures of those glasses.
SEE....you couldn't find them either could ya !

Last, but not least ! A bookmark, using this tutorial.
This was a bright idea.
Now that I have all those goodies, I'm not losing my stuff as much !
Yeah ! Happy face !   :)

Here's the hop schedule for your convenience.
Monday, March 11, 2013
Tuesday, March 12, 2013
Wednesday, March 13, 2013
Thursday, March 14, 2013
Friday, March 15, 2013
for cheering all of us on in yet another fab hop !

I almost forgot about having a little giveaway !
I'm going to give one of YOU, one of my FAVORITE things!
A Clover seam ripper.
I love them "sew" much...I keep at least 3 on hand in case I lose one.
(I should have made something for my seam ripper from my Nancy Drew fabric!)

With this little honey, I don't mind having to rip out stitches.
All I have to do is run it down the seam in between the 2 pieces of fabric.
What used to take me 30 minutes to rip out, now takes me 30 seconds !
To enter : Leave a comment about your favorite sewing tool.
No-reply bloggers, please make sure I have your email address in case you should win.
Everyone, everywhere can enter.
Have a fun and wonderful day !
God bless you.

Nice job with all the projects. My favorite tool is my new Karen kay Buckley scissors. They have a serrated edge that catches the fabric and cut like a dream.

apart from the obvious ruler/rotary cutter etc. I like the ADD a 1/4" ruler to foundation piecing, it's a great ruler!

Your jewelry bag is great. I love those bags and have made several, but your's is just perfect in the Nancy Drew fabric. Your other projects are so useful too. I have to say I use my thread snips the most at my sewing machine, so that's my handy tool.

Love your projects! I certainly got to know my seam ripper on my last project! I hope my next project goes better, but it has curved seams, so I'm a bit apprehensive as I have not sewn curved seams before.

I love all of your ideas and they look useful and fun to make. I like making things that you can use every day... then your friends and even people you don't know ask, and oh is it fun to show. This fabric works great for these ideas. I love the jewelry holder very much. I do not have a lot of jewelry but I know a lot of my friends do.

Well you outdid yourself here! Hard to pick a favorite as it sounds like you had a purpose for each and everything. I am going to check into that fabric bookmark a little closer though! I would not need a jewelry or iphone thing but a bookmark? yes!

Following if it matters for drawing but you wanted fav sewing tool---add a quarter ruler as I do a lot of foundation piecing.

InGa said...

I love your neat projects! My favorite sewing tool is my rotary cutter. The first quilt I ever started back in the eighties, I drew the pieces onto the fabric and cut them out with scissors. Not much fun. :D Thanks for the giveaway!

Interesting take on Nancy Drew finding things. :-) Lots of little goodies for you to enjoy.

My favorite sewing tool is my rotary cutter, mat and rulers.

Stephanie said...

I have to say, mine is my rotary cutter, altho I lost my seam ripper recently (well, not entirely, I had the plastic handle, and the cover, but somehow, the metal "ripper" part just disappeared. It was there, but then I went to use it, and it was gone?!?) and until I got a new one, I was totally lost, and seemed (seamed? LOL) to need it more than ever!

MoeWest said...

You have a great collection of projects today and a clever theme.

Rachaeldaisy said...

You made such fun things!! I've never seen a book mark like that, how clever! I always say my favourite tool is my seam ripper because I use it all the time, I've been wanting to try one of those fancy ones that have been popping up on blogs.

Just Quilt It said...

Oh, my, you have done so much work on the hop with lots of great projects! I'm definitely going to try those bookmarks. My granddaughters and daughter will love them! Thanks for having a giveaway! I can't imagine giving up my rotary cutter!

Karrie S said...

I love that you put a lot of thought into your projects! First of all, that bag is super cute! It's perfect to carry all the little things while traveling, like you said :)

I love the iphone case and the other one you use for a little wallet. They turned out great!

I don't wear glasses anymore (I have contacts), but those are "sew" cute! They never sell cute ones in the store.

My favorite is the bookmark! I have to make one of those ASAP. I hate wrinkles in the books I'm reading (I know, I'm weird), and sometimes it's hard to remember where you left off.

Thank you so much for sharing all your projects! Sometimes I think it might take longer to think of what project you are going to make, than the time of what the actual sewing part is!!! They all turned out great.

Thanks for the chance to win. My favorite sewing notion would be the seam ripper or thread clips; I don't know which one I use more!

-karrie :)
