Dallas x 2

Good morning (afternoon now) from my world.
Yes, this is what I woke to this morning. Aren't  God's  paintings the most beautiful !

This brand new little feller is saying good morning to you as well !
Life is Good around here !

First Trip :
Last Saturday Ranch Man and I were invited by his cousin to go to the Dallas Cowboy Stadium to see the PBR Iron Cowboy bull riding. My favorite sport ! That place is humongous ! We had great seats. This is the view from where we sat. Way up at the top of my photo you can see the suites that cost no telling how much. Your in a private room, so far up, you have to watch it on a TV monitor....what's the point of being there if you can't experience the drama of loud music, explosive fireworks and the roar of the crowd ?
One of my favorite riders, Austin Meier won it !

Click on the arrow bottom left.
This IS NOT AUSTIN MEIRE ! LOL
It's one of the cute little kids riding in the knee slapping funny Mutton Bustin.
That little boy was really hanging on ! Too cute !

Second Trip :
And yesterday, my BFF Nancy and I went to the Dallas Quilt Celebration
The quilts on display were nothing short of fabulous art.
In the abundance of vendors, all I bought was a bag of walnut shells for a pin cushion I want to make and some thread, one of which is Aurifill  ! Yippie !

No no, I'm not sick...I test drove sewing machines for the most part.
I've been wanting a new machine for several years, and in that whole time I wanted (without a doubt) a Bernina 550 QE because of the stitch regulator.  I drove both of these machines yesterday and let me tell you the Janome won. I didn't really like the stitch regulator on Bernina...I was so surprised! I can do as good as it does all by myself on my little Singer. I think I was wanting a slower speed more than anything. The Janome costs about $2000.00 less and  I liked the features it had a lot better.
Plus I thought the stitches looked prettier and more even.

If you have one of these machines I would love to hear your opinion !

Or even if you don't own one of these beauties, tell me about yours.
Maybe there is something else out there that would suit me even better !

Come back Monday when I reveal what I made for  the Nancy Drew hop !

What fun trips!!! Good for you! I know nothing about either machine - but would love to hear which one you got and why! I'm curious about the stitch regulators.

Blessings

I have a Pfaff, which I'm not totally in love with. I would love a Janome Horizon, everyone who has one seems to love it. It's so hard to know. I wish you could take them home to try out for a week.

I'm WAY behind on my blog reading! Pretty sunrise and spring on the ranch is just about my favorite time of the year, but I say that every time the seasons change. :) My in-laws are big PBR fans. We sent them to Vegas for the Finals for their 40th anniversary.
So, have you decided on a sewing machine? There is so much to choose from. I have a Janome MC9700 that I love, but I bought it 5 years ago before I started quilting. The only thing I would change on it is that I wish it had a larger harp space. But I love the embroidery capabilities. I know that people who sew on Berninas are just as loyal. Does the Janome not have a stitch regulator?
