They Dared Me to Mama

Hi Y'all, Thanks for stopping by to visit me and "The Ranch Patrol"
Who happen to be in a bunch of trouble right now !  (Short story follows. )
I love blog hops! They're "sew" much fun, don't you think ?
During this hop, I've certainly found more blogs I like, with oodles of information and tons of inspiration.
Christine ,*giggle* and  Madame Samm ,
Many thanks to you girlies for putting it all together for the rest of us to enjoy !
"Sew", here's is the quilt I made for this hop.
I call it....... Butter and Marmalade !

Why Butter ? Because, the Kona cotton I chose for the background
reminds me of smooth, sweet, creamy butter!
Why Marmalade Because I used Bonnie and Camille's  fabric they call Marmalade!
I love those cows on the butter box.

The backing and binding arrived in the mail today from Fort Worth Fabric Studio.
I'm so anxious to get it quilted !

I put together a Butter and Marmalade Tutorial you'll find it up in the tabs ,
If, your "sew" inclined to go take a look.

I have a "Tidbit" about that board with the reflector on it in the tutorial.

"Sew" here's the story .
I was trying to get out of the wind, so I went down to the barn to take pictures.

I had the quilt below with me so I could take picture of it. While my back was turned.......
ONE of the Ranch Patrol peed on it !  I know, disgusting !!
Of course I washed it RIGHT AWAY......well, right after the entire Ranch Patrol got a good chewing out with a few choice words !
I made it in 1994 out of actual 1930's fabric that a lady named Fanny gave to me.
It's hand appliqued and hand quilted
It looks better after being washed anyway.
"Sew" sorry for the dark picture, taken in the house, cloudy day, ya da ya da.

Meanwhile, back at the house...
No one has confessed to the crime..... as of yet.
Just look at that innocent  face .

I've been blown away at all the beautiful things people have made for this hop !
I hope you'll go visit all of them and get some inspiration for yourself !
Enjoy !
And don't forget to check out Madame Samm's Pinterest ! Each hop has it's own  board

Have a wonderful day and may God bless You.

I love Butter and Marmalade! It's so beautiful and I adore the colours! And I have those sticky rolls as well that can be seen on your tutorial page. I even clean my workspace with them once I'm done, cutting matts, tables etc, works so well when you have lints everywhere!

I love the quilt. It is beautiful. I love the way you have your stripes going different ways in the blades to give it movement and interest. Wow! The addition of the Dresdens at some of the cornerstones is wonderful and absolutely not overdone.

All of us with pets certainly understand the dilemma you underwent with the pets. I am so sorry. The quilt is beautiful and hope everything came out. It looks lovely. It is astounding. Lots of hard work. I can tell you certainly enjoy quilting.
Thank you for participating in the blog hop and going to all the trouble you did to get the pix for us. You certainly are an inspiration.

Just love your quilt and the name! I had to crack up at your story because something happened similar to me a few weeks ago. My daughter who has the new grand baby came for the night with her huge hunting dog, who promptly walked in peed on my ottoman and then my quilt that is draped over the foyer table! I know the feeling girlie!!

The Butter and Marmalade quilt is so pretty! What lovely, cheerful colors to work with in January. :-)

As for the dogs, that's why we prefer girls. LOL ;-) My sister-in-law had a male until recently and he was a real pest sometimes about "marking" things. ha.

LOL I love it! "accidents" like that happen around here all the time! Unfortunately I lost my one baby about a year ago. Turns out the one with the innocent face really wasn't as innocent as I had thought! Less of those "accidents" happen now. Tho I wouldn't mind if they did! Always look for the one who has the most innocent face :) I love your quilts, just gorgeous! PS I have a Cattle Dog and if he doesn't straighten out I'm going to send him to work at your ranch ;)
