Grand illusion

Are YOU in?
I think I'm gonna jump off the deep end and participate in the Grand Illusion quilt mystery.
However, I'm not completely following the suggested color pallet.
I've been collecting Pat Sloan's "One for You and One for Me" and I think this a good time to use it.
My black will be gray (I think) and my pink will be orange (I think).
Wouldn't it be interesting to know how many people are making this !
If you're doing it....are you following the suggested color pallet, or are you using other colors ?

I am following the color palette but I am taking it slow. I have one whole block made already!

I have ever done a mystery quilt before... I am always afraid of screwing up because of the color choices I made. Maybe one of these days.

I'm not participating in the mystery this time, but I really like your fabric selections.

As a bit of a control freak I never do mystery quilts, I am afraid I might nog like it in the end.......but I know people who love it and do Bonnie's mysteries every year. And are great at keeping up with the pace too... I so admire people who do. Look forward to following yours, great fabrics!

One year I'll join in but not this time, I look forward to seeing your quilt grow . You've picked such fun fabrics for your quilt.

Well, I've printed off the first instructions.... can't decide if I want to commit or not but I always love the end results of her mysteries. Your fabrics are great. No matter what the pattern ends up being, I think your choices will look fabulous.

I'm in! I have all my fabrics gathered and instructions printed, but sadly, have not had time to start on it yet. But I will! I visited Mackinac Island this past July and saw the Grand Hotel and it is beautiful. I am using the suggested colors and all the fabric came from my stash except for a couple of fat quarters and the yellow. I can't wait to see yours Vickie. I love those fabrics!

It's looking good girlfriend! I'm doing it but I'm not as far along as you are. I'm also a rule breaker and I'm not using the same color way either. I'm doing a halloween theme so no pink, it's orange and no turquoise, it's purple.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place. See the link below for more info.

One thing I learned in life is to love what makes you happy and to cherish every moment you spend with your family, friends or love ones because everything that we have now on earth is temporary. Well, thank you for inspiring us with your great art work.
