Four of Nine

I entered 9 quilts in the Heart of Texas Quilt Show and 4 of them got a ribbon.

"Left Handers Git Off" got a 3rd place, I pieced and quilted it.

3rd place for "Christmas Dinner", pieced and quilted by me.

"Hole in the Chicken Wire" got a 1st place ribbon, pieced by me and quilted by my sweet friend
in North Carolina, Thearica of Pig Tales and Quilts .

This is my favorite ribbon...Swoon...it got the Guild Choice Award...
which means my peers voted for this one. Thank you from the bottom of my heart !
Pieced by me and quilted by my friend Angela, of Quilts With a Heart in Priddy, Texas.

Tidbit of info for my 3 sisters: A lady at the quilt show heard me say I was left handed, she asked if I was at least 5 years behind the rest of my siblings...I said, yes 9 years. She told me she has studied about that for many years and said, most people 5 years or more behind the rest of their siblings are left handed and many times are artsy/crafty kind of people.
The End !
Have a blessed day.

Congratulations. Oh I am swooning over your swoon. I have all my fabrics picked out, but I really, need to finish quilting a couple of tops before I create one more. I am sooo thrilled for your wins! I am a left hander, but my great grandmother and mother taught me to be right. I think the worst thing about being forced to change. I cannot tell you right or left unless I hold my hand up to see where the "L" is. But I can tell you North, South, East, West etc. all day long.

Congratulations on your awards! You deserve them! I'll bet it was quite a thrill as you found out about each one. Keep up the great work!

Definitely deserving of each one!! Congrats! You are going to have to have a separate room to put all those ribbons. ;)

Great wins! I was supposed to be left handed, but, my father kept moving things to my right, so that I'd use that hand instead. I can do many things with either hand. Her reasoning wouldn't work with me, as my brother is less than 2 years older than me.

Oooo-Weeeee! Yes! What great showpieces, Vickie! Each one shows your creativity and eye for design and colour. I am sew proud of you. Glad to see you got recognition for your talent. We all knew you were a winner! And by the way..... You look gorgeous!

Hey...your hubby will have to amend your title from "Ranch Cook" to "Awesome Quilter who cooks in her spare time". The next question automatically follows...will you need to be "branded" again? *wink* Again...awesome creativity and workmanship!

That's an impressive list of prizes!! And no wonder , your quilts are all wonderful, great compositions and choice of colours. How interesting about the left hand information.

Congratulations Vickie! I am so happy for you. But I think someone made a big mistake. From what I have seen on your blog, I think you should have gotten ribbons for all of them. They are all beautiful. (And you look fabulous!

Vickie I am so, so excited for you! Every time you show a quilt I think it's my favorite - and then you show another I think it's my favorite. :) But that Left Handed one stole my heart. I have no idea why because I don't have any left handed children, or any cowboys for that matter, in my family. Of course, like most women my age just the idea of a cowboy reminds me of childhood days when I was so in love with Roy Rogers! blessings, marlene
