Black Tie Boogie

Yeah ! It starts Tuesday !
I'm so excited to share the schedule for this rooster/fowl inspired hop !
This is my own handsome young rooster, Fonzie (with the big comb), (Happy Days fans will get that) !
Before I show you the schedule, Fonzie and I have some BAD news to share with you....

Henrietta, the one on the left, ....has passed...away....
I know, it's such sad's the facts as we know them.
I (Vickie) went out to feed the chickens some scraps one afternoon, several weeks ago about 3:00 p.m.
All was well in the chicken pen......
Everyone was happily chasing grasshoppers, scratching, pecking and repeating.
That evening around 9:00 p.m. I went out to put the Ranch Patrol up for the night,
(it's too risky to let them stay out at night because of the coyotes and feral hogs).
Right by the gate, there lay Henrietta, stiff a a board and dead as a door nail !
I screamed at Ranchman to come out there,
"What happened" I asked him ? "Well Vickie, it's a chicken, who knows".
We finally deducted it must have been from some natural cause, maybe she choked on a grasshopper, or maybe she was snake bit. We'll never know......
Fonzie got over Henrietta's death pretty quick, when Ranchman brought home two new chicks for the henhouse !
I'll reveal the two new gals to you sometime during the Black Tie Boogie hop.

We're all happy now and I can't wait to see what was created by all these talented people you see listed below.

Poor Henrietta! I'm glad Fonzie has been able to move on and I'm sure those new chicks will find him quite attractive (which he is.) I'm looking forward to this, fun, fun!

Sorry about Henrietta....very sad. I'm glad though, that Fonzie didn't grieve too much and was able to move on. Life goes on.... Looking forward to the hop!

How awful it must have been to find Henrietta like that. I'd be so sad if one of my chickens died. How fun you got two more little chicks. It will be great to meet them on the hop!

I am really sorry to hear about Henrietta. But Fonzie is such a handsome dude, I am sure the other chicks will take to him right away. I am so happy that you only have a few people sharing their projects each day in the new Blog Hop. It makes it a lot easier to visit without being on the computer so long. Mine is really slow and hubby doesn't like it when I am on it for a long time. So I really appreciate it.Looking forward to seeing the new chicks. Have a wonderful weekend.

What a beautiful rooster and sorry to hear about Henrietta! said...

I am happy that Fonzie is so resilient and able to move on so quickly. May Henrietta RIP in chicken heaven where there are always sunny days and all chickens are free range. We told the Ancient uncle he could no longer keep his chickens out by the neighbor's pond, and we set up a new chicken coop for him. He told us they don't like it so now they are living in his garage with a heater.

I've seen a plethora of rooster items lately, where ever I go, and each time I see something, I think of you and the hop. Have a cock-a-doodle good time.
