Good Monday Morning to ya !
I thought it was time to show you some more pictures of the ( HOT ) Heart Of Texas Quilt Show.
A view from the top.
That is Ranch Man's Aunt Doris and cousin Laurie. Aunt Doris is probably my biggest fan.
RM's other aunt, Aunt JoAnn paid the $7.00 admission, just to come in and vote for my quilts.
I had to show you a picture of this beauty that took first place.
Doesn't this lady have the sweetest smile ! She is aptly named Joy.
I believe she said her husband gave her this kit as a gift for their anniversary last year.
This quilt belongs to the couple in the pictures below.
The song books have scripture embroidered on them as well as the date it was made.
But I forgot the date...."sew" sorry !
The hand quilting is wonderful !
The grand finale of the bed turning was this crazy quilt that also belongs to this couple.
If I remember correctly, it was made by her great aunt in 1885 and is in pristine condition.
It's appraised value is 10 - 18 thousand......YES, DOLLARS !
Look at those photos and I hope you can see some of the applique...WOW !
Did you know that most crazy quilts have a spider embroidered on them somewhere for good luck?

They were such gracious people and so proud to be the care takers of this piece of their heritage.
They actually drove the quilt to the show from out of state !
The lady that narrated the bed turning brought these pieces of crazy quilt she found and then framed in beautiful antique frames. I just thought that was "sew" very CLEVER !
Have a great day and God bless you.
