Stars Over Abilene.TX

Last weekend was the Stars Over Abilene Quilt Show
I drove 80 miles on Wednesday to deliver my 3 entries, and then Saturday I drove back over there to pick them up. I went early that day so I could see all the quilts in the show.
I had told Ranchman, that this year I wouldn't win a thing with my artsy quilts because, most of the quilts in the show from the past few years have been more traditional.
Boy was I surprised that both the "Black Hills Bison" and the "As the Deer"
had a first place ribbon !
It's a wonderful feeling when you find out people like what you do.
They are both for sale on Etsy.

I've been working on a Saint Bernard collage of my own design, it's been a slow go.
I will keep plugging away at it and it might turn out to be my best masterpiece !
You never know !

What was my third entry ?
No ribbon, boo who !
May you be blessed beyond measure.

You are amazing and so are your quilts! Congrats. It was announced last night at guild meeting that at our quilt show next year there is going to be a modern quilt category. Folks were upset last year as they felt the judging was unfair since there was a category missing for those folks. I don't know if we have an art quilt category or not. I don't have an artistic bone in my body so I don't look for that category on the form and I haven't started on a quilt for next year - other things are taking priority these last couple of years. Again, jobs well done, my friend.

Two Blue Ribbons..... Very Sweet!! I see this designer has a pattern for a bear We have just returned from our family vacation to Alaska. Might have to think about trying out her pattern for the bear as a vacation memory. At the moment I am in very slow gear.

Thanks for your recent visits to the girlfriend gap. You add smiles to my days : )

Your sweet Sewing Sister in Christ,

Congratulations, my friend. You have (had) the same situation I have here. Only traditional seems to turn the judges on. My deer is sitting here waiting on me to get with the program and finish it. I've been pulled in so many directions this summer that I forgot about our fair and didn't enter a darn thing.

You must be busy too. Maybe we'll be regular bloggers again....
