Good Friday to you !
You haven't seen me blogging lately because I am just back from visiting my family in South Dakota. It was my Mom's 90th birthday...Us 5 kids and our families gathered together to celebrate her life! I will have pictures of that wonderful occasion to show you soon.....as soon as my camera gets here from SD....My nephew had a camera just like mine and we got them mixed up ! ugh. Plus I'll show you a picture of Carla....Creatin in the Sticks We drove right through the town where she works in Kansas....
and we got to meet each other.....IN PERSON !
However.....
The reason for today's post is to show you what you what I made with a pattern created by Lorna of Sew Fresh Quilts !
A while back, Lorna said she was looking for pattern testers ...and I jumped at the chance.
You can also purchase Ombre fabrics to make one like Lorna's (below) at,
Mad About Patchwork in a kit which includes 27 fat eights of Kona solids in Greens, Blues, Pinks, Purples and Greys; white for background and black for binding.
Lorna said we could make this wall hanging in any fabrics we wanted to ....
and you all know I tend to do things the "Vickie Way".
So I asked Lorna what she thought about making it in black and white ?
She said, "Go for it "
Sew/So I did !
It was an easy pattern to make. It went together in one day and I quilted it the next.
I straight line quilted between each of the black and white fabrics, then stipple quilted on the buttery yellow background to make the images pop out.
Thank you Lorna...it was an privilege and a pleasure to test this pattern for you !
I gave Lorna's wall hanging to this sweet lady....she is always doing nice things for others, myself included.
I didn't get a picture of the label I put on it before I gave it to her...but this it what it said,
For my friend LaTrelle who does nice things, and Nice Matters.
Have a great day and God bless you.
