A Picnic with Lovely You and a giveaway too

Welcome to the 5th day of "A Perfect Picnic" blog hop.
Madame Samm had the great blog hop idea to get our creative juices flowing.
Mary, thank you for planning and organizing our picnic schedule. You did a fabulous job darling !
A special thank you goes out to Riley Blake Designs for the red and white polka dot laminate fabric I used for the foundation and inspiration in creating my quilts.
Thank you to Cori from Chitter Chatter Designs . I can't decide which of her patterns I want.......
Well, yes I can.........ALL OF THEM !
And also to Peterboro Basket Co for being a sponsor in our hop.

When I started planning my picnic quilt, I was doing a lot of praying for rain on our dry and parched  part of Texas.
I suppose that's part of the reason why I chose to use Bonnie and Camille's "April Showers" fabric line.
Rain showers, remind me of how beautiful everything looks when the ground gets
a good ole drink a water.
Prayers were answered about 10 days ago...
We got a little over 8 inches of rain and things greened up in a hurry !  That's something to SING about !

This hop was very timely, because  Lexcey, has been visiting for a few weeks. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for us to make a memory. She said, 'Let's have a picnic in the back yard"....so that's exactly what we did.

We gathered up my new quilts and some really good goodies !
Chocolate, grapes and a camera for me, strawberries, baby dills and a book for her.
We added Wheat Thins and mozzarella for good measure.
It all went in my friend Nancy's antique picnic basket, and away we walked !

I made two quilts that can be interchanged with the lined laminate by simply tying bows on all 4 corners.....
You can sit on one, cover up with the other.
AND..... it will be really easy to wash the quilts when I need to !

I love making the classic old quilt patterns in today's beautiful fabrics.

Quilt One is the good ole' standard 9 patch with  an appliqued cloud, rain drops and an umbrella.
The blue I used for the background really "floats my boat"....I wish I had an entire bolt of it !
I should name this quilt, "Singing in the Rain".
I hope you watch this video....it will just make you feel  good !

I love old movies, so when I'm sewing, I turn the TV to TCM  and listen to it.

Here is the Lovely, Lizard Loving, Lexcey relaxing with a book after our picnic.
You can read about Mozart the lizard Here and HERE.

Our photo shoot was as much fun as the picnic !

Quilt Two is one of my favorite patterns...Churn-dash.

The backing on it is Riley Blake's medium polka dot that exactly matches the laminate.

"The Ranch Night Patrol" found his way to Lexcey, the food and the quilts.
I think he thought, he was going to fill up and take a siesta.  No no Smokey Joe !

  We had fun!

Now, how about....Let's have a giveaway !
