Surround Yourself with Friends

Ranchman's dog woke me up to go outside yesterday morning about 4:30 am....argh!
When his business was done, I tried to go back to sleep, but couldn't.
I laid there thinking about where I was going to go to buy a birthday gift for my friend.
Her birthday is today..... but her little party was yesterday. I finally decided to get up and make it. She loves my collage quilts....so I made one for her.

She is such a special lady and I love her to the moon and back, so a  heart quilt was the perfect thing to make. I used fabrics by Bari J, Anna Marie Horner, Kaffee Fassett, Carole Lee McMullin and Cotton and Steele among others. The word fabric (Surround Yourself With Friends) is by Julie Comstock..... what a perfect sentiment to put in a quilt for a friend !
I quilted straight lines with my walking foot and finished the edges with a zig zag stitch......time was running out !
size 11" x 14 "
By 9:30 am I was finished with it and it was time to hurry and get myself ready.

There are 4 of us that get together to celebrate our birthdays at the restaurant of our choice. We have lunch, exchange gifts and usually sit there 3 or more hours talking and laughing.
(No we never get run out of the restaurant !)
We are getting together again next week at my house to have a sew day.
I am excited to SURROUND MYSELF WITH FRIENDS  once again !
Happy Birthday LaTrelle, may God Bless you richly !
