Stampin...Comanche Style

Hi Y'all and Welcome to More Stars in Comanche !
Thank you to Madame Samm and Thearica
for the opportunity to be a part of  something fun and challenging.
I have to tell you this post  reminds me of the children's story "City Mouse/Country Mouse". The city mouse thought it would be happier in the country, and the country mouse thought it would be happier in the city. Although I haven't  lived  anywhere but the country for the last 40 years, I'm very happy in Comanche County. When we first moved here 5 years ago, I would say to Ranch Man, "You know, I think there's even more stars here in Comanche". ......And that's how my blog got it's name.

"Sew" I decided to make one of my stamps (which is a euro pillow sham in disguise) about my "happy place", Comanche County. I will call this my city stamp, there is 18 stars on it. Comanche is the big star because it's the county seat. The two smaller (stars) towns are, DeLeon, Gustine, and the 15 unicorperated (stars) areas are......Beattie, Comyn, Energy, Downing, Duster, Hasse, Lake Proctor, Lamkin, Newburg, Proctor, Promontory Park, Rucker, Sidney, Sipe Springs and Vandyke.

Both of my stamps are raw edge applique. Inside the county (red area) I quilted just like the paved highways, and the quilting in the blue area follows the barbed wire which represents the barbed wire fences on both sides of the miles and miles of dirt roads.
I found  this tutorial on how to make continuous prairie points, very easy, very fast, you must check it out.

You knew my country stamp would be a chicken didn't you !
and "sew" very fitting since Red Rooster  is the sponsor for our hop !
I made this rooster's comb and waddle from a picture I took of my rooster Fonzie.

Disclaimer...This is not my mailbox !  LOL
It belongs to my neighbor, Doolan, an older gentleman
who used to grow and sell the biggest onions you've ever seen.
Now that's a country mailbox !
Yes, it has electrical tape on it and it's been bashed in.
Well that's it for me. Here is the list of the other awesome and talented people who are showing they're stamps today too !
